It’s another way of serving vegetables to the kids.
I often pick up extra child friendly chop sticks from places like Wagamama’s and get them to eat their greens with these – it’s fun and you’ll be surprised how much they end up eating – it becomes competitive!
Place them in a bowl in centre of table and watch them all tuck in!
Prepare the French beans; sometimes I cut into 6 cm or 2 and a half inch lengths otherwise I leave as is.Then cut the red pepper, again in wide pieces or into slithers and leave to one side.
Blanch the beans in a large saucepan of boiling water for approx. 30 seconds. Drain and set aside.
Then in a preheated wok or deep saucepan, heat the oil and stir fry the beans for about 1 minute over a high heat. Add the pepper and stir-fry for a further minute. Sprinkle with salt and sugar on top and serve.
